It makes no sense to say programming is easy. A rockie error. Programming a "hello world" application might be easy once you've mastered the language and environment, but programming real world applications is usually hard. And by hard I mean in the mathematical sense.

I'm absolutely tulip at maths and program real world applications, sometimes even for financial institutions, and they're still running today. When I first started out in this business the bloke who employed me asked what I was studying at school. When I replied 'English Language and English Literature' but no maths in there he said that they were the ideal subjects as at least then I would be able to understand the manual - RTFM. The maths I needed in computing, reading dumps in hex, etc. came later. Forgotten all that now as I'm a professional
