Came in today after 2 weeks off and I discover all my developer tools have been automatically deinstalled because I changed budget codes. No chance is that friday deadline going to be met as it takes 5 days to get all the tools back again.
Do I give a tulip? Not really, I send of a few emails to cover my ass then get ready of a week of doing nothing, working on Plan B, browsing the web and long lunches. Fantastic really.
You need to go back to being a junior permie programmer where productivity is expected.Comment

I guess it's got everything to do with what motivates you. If it's just money, then be the most successful whore at Kings Cross. I however need to feel that I have achieved something. If the current gig no longer give me this, then it's time for a change, and renewal time is the perfect time to make this decision.
Enjoy the long lunches.Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

I used to be technical lead of a company, now I earn 3 times as much sitting here picking my arse. If they want work out of me then they just have to ask, often I am not asked because nobody at clientCo is any good.
If I see a sack of coal in the street I do not have the urge to pick it up and carry it somewhere when I am not asked to. Don't be a martyr.Comment

He has probably been escorted off the site for being useless.
