Although I never tire of telling people I saw SRV live (Newcastle City Hall, 1988), my recollection is that the show wan't that special. I do remember the song he opened with, Scuttle Buttin', being much better live than the studio version, but can't remember a lot else. Did I mention that I saw SRV live?

I was dying to see George Thorogood for a decade before I got the chance to see him perform (The Forum, London, 1995). It was a fantastic show - the whole audience seemed to share my sense of expectation, and GT's performance was excellent.

I got to see him again in 2004, but this show was quite a let down - poor venue (Nottingham Royal Centre), and an unenthusiastic audience. The show was filmed for DVD release, but I still haven't had the urge to purchase a copy!

      Alright grandads!

I have nothing to else to add to this thread as you won't be interested in Mumford & Sons at the Shephereds Bush Empire being the best gig ever.

You should have joined me at the British Music Experience at the O2 this weekend then. Pretty good experience, full of great memories. I am still rubbish on guitar but had great fun having a go.

How on earth Geri got into that union jack dress I'll never know. It's keeping me awake at night

Clapton at the Guildford civic hall, 2 people away from getting tickets, heard him at Wintershall - incredible.

I saw Carter USM at the Guildford Civic Hall. They were tulip. Got in the lasses knickers though, so not an entirely wasted evening.

I was thinking the same. M&S are cool, though played to death on TV/radio right now.

I would have liked to have seen Nirvana at Reading.

Snap!! Didn't think much to the supporting acts, although Todd Rundgren was reasonable. Chas and Dave??? WTF was that all about?
