No problems this morning; properly heated refurbished intercity train with space for sitting and even stretching one's legs.

    No OAPs. No smells.

It's cold out so I expect problems this evening, which may prompt a more verbose report.

From my window it looks like Narnia out there...

Well if you see a Lion & a Witch fighting with swords then just remember you're probably still hungover from last night.

I assume there was only the 'right kind of snow' in South Wales this morning?

Nothing to report on eastern side of North Sea. Just bloody cold.

My train journey last night was cancelled.

                5 inches of snow.

Bob Crow was probably on the blower saying it was a safety concern.

I haven't read this thread, but I gather it's to do with trains and that, so...

My train from Euston was delayed this evening. Apparently it had a "sticky brake on Carriage C", so they got a repair crew out. I was expecting us all to be thrown off to find another train, but the train manager came on the intercom and said they were going to "try a reset" first and see if that fixed the problem. Must be some kind of technical term for whacking the brakes with a hammer a couple of times, right? No... They proceeded to reboot the train. They switched it off and switched it back on again. All the lights went out and everything, then they waited ten seconds and then they started it up again, and it even did some beeps on the intercom as it restarted. Those Virgin trains are just big computers. And very fast too. Yeah, very fast. It worked anyway. Sticky brake sorted with a reboot. Sweet.
