Thanks, that's good to know. Have to say though, to be honest, £500 a month for Mon>Fri stays in Leatherhead don't look that much of a bargain, many are 6 month minimum stay which is dodgy for a contractor on a weeks notice?

mine were around the £350 mark, didn't stay in anything close to luxury mind you but at least the landlord is in the same building so if the boiler does break its fixed ASAP

Sometimes its worthwhile widening your search slightly. There might be somewhere else only 10-15 minutes drive away which is a lot cheaper

                • When eating Chocolate Chip Cookies in bed, make sure that you get all the Chocolate Chips into your mouth otherwise you have some difficult explaining to undertake to the cleaner (i.e. it is not a smeared dingleberry.)
                • Remember to close the curtains when watching anything risque (i.e. YouPorn) so the people in the offices opposite you cannot see you sitting in your O-Backs
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Had to share this advice I have just been given after buying an in-room bottle of relaxant and having no corkscrew:

Bistro Bordeaux - No Need For A Corkscrew - YouTube
                  World's Best Martini

That ain't going to do a bottle of "Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Pauillac 1932" any good!

I am just about to embark on a new contract where I will be staying away......in Basingstoke

Are there any good tips for

The best "contractor" hotels to go for (I am thinking chains here)
                      Reducing Costs
Occupying your time constructively in the evening

                      I live in hope......
What ever happened to the OP? I sent him the details of a mate renting out rooms and he never replied or posted again. Has someone in Basingstoke done away with him?
