I think there are two versions of this, mechanical and a cheaper quartz one.

A salesman's dream, I've got money to spend but I don't know what I want.

I bought a Breil for about £160, Italian style with Japanese guts, the ultimate combination... if only they made cars like that.

Yes, but it's only the same for other quartz i.e. seiko rotary tissot. If you want date and waterproofing you have to pay a little more. But at that price it's a bargain good spot.

Its got to be a Rado (also buy a matching gold chain) if you want the full DimPrawn, Stavros Flatley look. Remember also that your car loudspeakers should be more expensive than your car and the whole car-loudspeakers combi should be more expensive than your house.

For that budget, go for a second hand Omega - Speedmaster Pro is gorgeous, I've had mine for 15 years and it's faultless.

Spending 500 quid on a watch is, imo, silly.

Of course it's silly. So is spending >£75 on a pair of jeans, >£100 on a pair of shoes, >£30-40k on a car. You can buy all your clothes from George and all your furniture from Ikea and get a nice Ford Focus, and they will all be functional and not £-shop quality.

But what's the point of being a capitalist with nothing to aspire to?

Oh but I do, it just isn't watches.
