RH as I'm sure you're more than aware an edit by the original poster automatically leaves an editted message with time and date if the edit take place more than a few minutes after the original posting.
An edit done by a moderator doesn't leave that trace...
You can edit without a date stamp within a few minutes and if you don't leave the site.

Nah several people had time to answer many minutes later, that's not the explanation. Mod interference or an attempt at trolling humour is the only rational explanation.
My 1st response (the original post was still up) was over 2 hours after the post.
