Having shared a bed with a few tin-ribs tarts, I have decided I do not like being poked by bony elbows, knees, hips, etc. and definitely prefer warm, soft cuddly bits and bonus pillows.

It's all about proportion. The whole dress size thing is misleading and a bit dangerous IMO.

On a 5'10" frame 12 1/2 stone is at the top end of the "normal" BMI range. On a 5'4" frame it would be clinically obese.
