Is that really true? I can’t believe it is that cheap."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George Orwell -
I live in Richmond, I don't think it's that bad.Originally posted by swamp View PostWandsworth and Westminster rock. Camden Council are crap and their rates are very high. Richmond is even higher, but only because the Government nicks all their money.
IIRC, it also covers provision for emergency services.
Us lucky Londoners also have to pay up for the GLA, which is about 20% of the whole bill..."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Another sub £1000 council tax bill here. I must be one of the paupers.

I'll keep on saying this, if you actually look at the breakdown of your council tax you will find out what section has increased the most over the last ten years:
Housing and Council Tax benefits awarded.
Yes, that's right. Social engineering via your council tax.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment
