If it was a joke made more directly, I'd be inclined to agree with you. On this one however, I think you might be a bit OTT. Have a cuppa and re-read it in the morning

Judging by the drivel you post on these boards, you'd be as missed as a fart in a wetsuit.
      sheesh you're right

jeez I need to lighten up

the murder of a two year old IS a laughing matter

you could easily muddle the murderers up with Ant and Dec

It is me that is overreacting

      thanks for pointing that out

      move along

I have read and re-read this thread.

It is not funny. It does offend me. Greatly.
I do not think I am overreacting.

If this board agreed with MF then that's it from me.

I've read about 3000 of your posts, it's the impression you give.

Well I found MF's post funny.

Doesn't mean I wasn't outraged/saddened/sickened/upset by the original crime committed by those 2 as well as angry that he had been given the opportunity to commit further transgressions as he appears to have done.

I just re-read it and I don't see anyone condoning murder or even suggesting it was amusing??
A lame attempt at humour based around the characters (not the act) doesn't suggest agreement with that act.

                WSS.

The murder of a two year old is not a laughing matter, and no one here has said as much, or agreed as much, or is trying to say that MF said as much, or implied as much.

Please don't therefore imply that we're all joking/laughing at jokes about the murder of a two year old child.

(or are they the same person?)

None of the flipping TV or rags seem to be able to make up their mind.

Poor shoddy fact checking as usual.
I'm curious: which news sources have stated that it was Thompson rather than Venables who has been taken back into custody? I haven't seen a single report that has identified Thompson other than referring to him as Venables' accomplice in the original crime.

I would honestly be grateful if you could post links to those sources that have mistakenly identified Thompson as the re-incarcerated one, as this would help in the process of establishing the reliability (or lack thereof) of different sources of news.

In the case of TV or radio broadcasts that you feel were in error or misleading, links to the online archives of such broadcasts would be helpful, although I suspect that the BBC is the only broadcaster that is willing to leave its occasional errors online for posterity, rather than rescinding or replacing them.

Again, I would be grateful for any links you can provide: the idea that news providers have failed to correctly communicate such a basic fact about a current story is intriguing. TIA

(BTW, MF's attempt at a joke was seriously lame. Didn't the whole Ant and Dec distinction thing become old about five years ago, and the digs at Scousers about ten years before that?)
