I find it slightly disturnbing that you all wish to socialise on the grounds of commonality derived from a virtual world you happen to subscribe to.
It does not compute for me- wtf do you talk about? - I have an image of you all standing around handbags at a bar somewhere bitchin about 'he said she said' type conversations
Serious answers only please...How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Enough of you and your images. You know what happened last time.Originally posted by Troll View PostI have an image of you all“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”Comment

Nope - it's generally just a load of old cobblers that gets talked, the pissed-er we get the more rubbish we talk.Originally posted by Troll View PostI find it slightly disturnbing that you all wish to socialise on the grounds of commonality derived from a virtual world you happen to subscribe to.

Have you never been in a pub and got talking to a bunch of randoms, about a match, the music, anything? It's just like that. A bunch of randoms meeting up for a pissup and a laugh

I was a regular poster in a Usenet group from about 1998. We all used to have a right go at each other over various topics on discussion. Posters used to give it as good as they got it from others.
For some reason an idea was floated about a meetup which was attented by pretty much all the major posters, about 25 of us met and talked as if we knew each other for decades.
The unfortunate outcome was that the usenet group was never the same after that. Posters started to treat others with respect and so the lively discussions became dull and boring and eventually it went dead within a year of the meet up.

That is the problem with the real world. That is why some of us choose to shun it and its hedonistic ways.Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostI was a regular poster in a Usenet group from about 1998. Hardly any of the conversation is about the board and some of us have some constructive discussions about contracting.
Shocking but true.Comment
