But who gets the tax back from the dispenstion on the allowances?
As was mentioned before, the Indian IT companies get dispensation from HMRC (e.g. under the temporary workplace rules) so that very little income tax and NI is paid.
I have asked some TCS ICTs and a Mastek ICT what they got paid and what it says on their visas. It looked like the tax deduction from the dispensation was not passed on to the worker.
e.g. visa says £35k, employee gets £21k allowance in UK (and £6k Indian salary)
This seemed strange, but I just noticed this link posted on a Computer Weekly blog yesterday:

Could it be true that TCS claims tax back for their employees and keeps it?
Do the others do it as well?
