What's too much money? 40% tax kicks in at like £40k, yet mortgage is totally ridiculous, fuel prices are an unfunny joke (worse than mine), food is going up only plasma TVs are getting cheaper.

If you want to give your children good (private) education it will cost like what, £20k per year per child, and what if you have few children? £40k after tax is like £80k gross required just to give children good education.

There is no legislation to stop this AFAIK. And why should there be any more than there is legislation to stop me working in a county that I choose (that I have been doing for the past 11 years).

UK tightens visa rules for Indian IT professionals

It has been claimed that this enables jobs in the IT and other sectors to be taken by migrants who are paid less than resident workers.

The Home Office, however, said that this was not true. "Workers coming to the UK in the Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) category must be paid the going rate", it said.

Not sure about that, seems like just business to me.

Nothing illegal that anyone can provide concrete evidence about, as opposed to the skewed anecdotal type.

It's strategic consideration - if country cuts off its legs and gets no tax revenues, then htf you expect country to continue developing?

This BN66 stuff is a tax dodge from my point of view, however the loss of tax revenues from those alleged 55k ICTs ought to be an order of magnitude bigger.

Oh ffs, what part of 'must be paid the going rate' don't you get? This is not happening, the home office wouldn't have tightened the rules last month if the system wasn't being abused.
