Of the approx 640,000 net increase in jobs under new labour.
For every 14 of them 13 were in the public sector. Approx 25% of the working population work in ways that rely totally on the government.
The number of jobs lost in areas such as manufacturing are greater than the number of jobs created in the private sector. If it was n't for the public sector jobs then unemployment would be going up (which it has has historically for every previous Labour Government)
We may indeed have had the longest period of growth however our current growth is worse than most of our major competitors and lower than it was when New Labour came to power.
The number of people out of work in the UK rose by 72,000 in the three months to October to stand at 1.49 million.
That left the unemployment rate at 4.9%, up from 4.7% the month before, figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed.
The narrower measure of people out of work and claiming unemployment benefit, rose by 10,500 in November to 902,000.
It was the tenth month in a row that the claimant count figure has increased.
And this is AFTER they have massaged the figures, hidden them as invalids or in training or as too soon to count or as long term unemployed.
Of course the tories never massage the figures (YOP/YTS???)
or raised taxes (VAT????)
Or had blood on their hands (General Belgrano????)

Sense of scale is needed on this one. How many kids are hidden from the figures doing near impossible to fail a levels so that they can secure themselves a place on a media studies course prior to embarking on a career as a nappy co-ordinator in Tone's vote bank. How many are hidden on incapacity benefit? etc
or raised taxes (VAT????)
160 tax rises since NL came to power. We will not raise Income tax but will raise NI. Since NI is based on your income, how is that not an income tax.
Or had blood on their hands (General Belgrano????)
How many died on the Belgrano? It may or may not have been a justified target, but it was sank in the course of a LEGAL war. We are nuts deep in a war based largely on a students thesis NL ripped off the net.
They're all the same. Live with it.
Maybe they are all the same but I do not see why I should live with it.
Self interest rules OK - Especially on these boards
And why shouldn't it. My first priority will always be to my family and me. NL Troll
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
