Not much, but apparently more than some of the people you've been quoting.

I can predict with quite some certainty we'll have a few years of cooler than average weather, and the North Pole will absolutely not be ice free by 2014.

There you go. A prediction better than the Met Office will give you. And lets sit back and see who is more accurate.

Then why are nights significantly warmer when there is cloud cover?

The NASA data is an interesting source worth looking at:

subject to correction from time to time throwing confusion as to whether 1939 or 1998 was the hottest year depending on how you massage the data

Clouds affect temperatures in two ways. Firstly they absorb energy themselves, secondly they radiate it back towards the source.

So its cooler on a cloudy day than normal, because some of the radiation from the sun is absorbed, some goes back into space.
At night, some of the heat radiated from the earth is absorbed by the clouds, some is radiated back, making it warmer than normal.

The night radiation bit, is, indeed, known as the greenhouse effect.
Water vapour accumulates into large blobs, clouds. I dont think C02 does that.

What you will never hear from SasGoru, is the fact that if clouds radiate heat in both directions, so does C02. So what we should be looking at is the net effect i.e. maybe CO2 reflects an awful lot of sunlight back into space, so it leads to global cooling, not warming.

Amongst meteorologists it is accepted that cloud cover, on balance, has led to a slightly cooler earth.

At least we know that some of the "experts" that sg so blindly follows have their stance firmly rooted.............on mobile goalposts!!

Professor Stephen Schneider converted from warning of a coming ice age in the 1970s to promoting of man-made global warming fears today. In the 1970s Professor Stephen Schneider was one of the leading voices warning the Earth was going to experience a catastrophic man made ice-age. However he is now a member of the UN IPCC and is a leading advocate warning that the Earth is facing catastrophic global warming.
In 1971, Schneider co-authored a paper warning of a man-made “ice age.” See: Rasool S., & Schneider S."Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Aerosols - Effects of Large Increases on Global Climate", Science, vol.173, 9 July 1971, p.138-141 – Excerpt: 'The rate of temperature decrease is augmented with increasing aerosol content. An increase by only a factor of 4 in global aerosol background concentration may be sufficient to reduce the surface temperature by as much as 3.5 deg. K. If sustained over a period of several years, such a temperature decrease over the whole globe is believed to be sufficient to trigger an ice age.” Schneider was still promoting the coming “ice age” in 1978. (See: Unearthed 1970's video: Global warming activist Stephen Schneider caught on 1978 TV show 'In Search Of...The Coming Ice Age' – September 20, 2009) By the 1980's, Schneider reversed himself and began touting man-made global warming.
See: "The rate of [global warming] change is so fast that I don't hesitate to call it potentially catastrophic for ecosystems,” Schneider said on UK TV in 1990.

So it seems every man and his dog has a theory.
But that is why we have peer-reviewed science and thats why I'm more likely to believe these guys

than the common or garden cretins on CUK.

And if you believe that the science academies of the US, Germany, China, Russia, India have all got together in a conspiracy, I've got some videos you can watch about how the Israelis "did" 9/11 and why the moon landings are a fake.

Dug out the salient bit for you sg as you seem to be incapable of finding it unaided.............

"Mobilise the science and technology community to
enhance research and development efforts, which can
                better inform climate change decisions."

In other words, keep our research grants coming and we will get you whatever results you want.

CO2 may reflect some infrared radiation from the Sun; but it is transparent to higher-energy visible and UV solar radiation, so it lets these through. But it also absorbs infrared radiation from the Earth's surface, and re-radiates most of this in random directions, half of which are back down towards the ground. As you also pointed out, some of the absorbed infrared radiation directly heats the atmosphere. So one way or another there is a net blanket effect.
