But thousands of years ago peope died by age 30 with worn out joints :P. Decent shoes must lower the impact on the leg joints.

I don` t like jogging or running much. The stresses on the leg joints are high with high impact. The knee joints especially were never a great design to begin with. Much prefer walking fast up hills.

The average age was 30, lots of people lasted way beyond that.
Infact the Menopause is natures way of stopping mothers and daughters competing for resources in child raising (instead they both look after the new generation)

And modern barefoot runners run for decades without any health complications. Infact, they insist that running barefoot forces you to run with a better technique reducing impact and so reducing wear on the joints.

My hip has become very sore over the last few months, not getting any better.

I enjoy aerobics and jogging, when I push myself my joint gets unbearable, but a little seems to ease it for a while.

Hopefully it will be a case of getting referred for a cortisone jab and to take things steady, but, it is a fine balance of not exercising at all and continuing to the point of wearing out the hip.

I jog gently for around 2 miles a day, days I do not jog I do an hour long high energy but fairly low impact aerobics class.

Seriously considering cancelling the docs and just carrying on, but will face whatever music there is………

Not surprsingly, my running shoes are the cheapest I could find, £5, and so thin they bruise my heels on rough ground. Then I discovered that running on rough ground and bashing your heels is actually good for you. Cobblestone mats are recommended to lower blood pressure.

Yes, but if you're a 30 year old chubster, starting running barefoot is going to **** you up quicker that an industrial blender.
