Apparently loads of people are stopping on the motorway because their windscreens are getting covered in gritty spray, but their windscreen washers are frozen so they can't clean them
Buy a bottle or two of windscreen bug and road grime remover and replace the water in your washer bottle with it.

Use your washers (Once working) to clear the lines of water so that there is pure remover in the lines and jets.

Working for me, I did it yesterday and my washers are working this morning, and the fluid isn't freezing when it hits the screen. -3 deg here now.

Is this the same receptionist that de-iced your car the other day and ignored the more expensive car next to yours?

Being an IT bod you prolly don't get this, but

My neighbour just knocked and warned me not to take the car if I'm thinking of going into XXXXXXXX town.

Apparently there are eleven cars crashed on the bend 1/2 way down the hill, as the cars coming down are sliding on the hill and all piling up at the bottom.

I came back that way this morning and wheel spun several times on the way up!

Don't you just love this weather

Got an SOS from a friend of SY02. She had locked herself out, husband at work, kids with her yada yada. SY01 dons his cape and gets in the Touran and ventures out.

Where I live there are two hills either side of us. I chose the wrong hill, and it was sheet ice. I pressed the middle peddle but the car was sledging and was going out into a busy road unless I could think of something quick. Half way down the hill there was a right hand turn. I turned the wheel but had now built up so much speed sliding and the wheels had no traction so turning the wheel had no effect.

When panic should have set in, ultra calm took over. I dropped the clutch, slammed her into second, revved hard, pulled the hand brake up, and went for it.

It was fairly graceful save for all the wheel spinning, but I executed a perfect hand brake turn into the side road and averted disaster. Then the panic set in once I was safe.

No I do not enjoy this weather. HTH.

4 or 5 inches when I woke up this morning. that sounds bad.

4 or 5 inches of snow lying when I woke up and is still snowing - fun.

We've got the odd flake dropping now and then.

Either that or I've got really bad dandruff

Yes, the same one. Shame I may never visit that hotel again, what with the gig ending today

I was meant to be in the capital today, told them on Monday I was not coming back till January. Wise choice.
