There is a high risk of severe weather affecting parts of east and southeastern England during Friday. Heavy snow showers will give accumulations of 5-10cm on low ground and 15-20cm over hills. Some drifting snow is likely in the strong north to northeasterly wind. This could cause disruption to travel networks. Outdoor events may also be affected by the snow.

Issued at: 1039 Wed 16 Dec

won't be able to make it in for my last day at work if the above is true

also that might mean no flight to Ireland so no having to deal with family

but it could also mean getting stuck there if i manage to fly over there eek

Snowing in Basel. Went out at 10:20, complaining about where the bloody snowploughs are... got back at 11:30 to cleared roads. And pavements.

Good idea - that would be a stupid route to take!

I have a satnav. You wouldn't believe the places it takes me (Where I don't want to go)

Used it to go to the port of Mostyn in North Wales a few months back. ended up on a caravan park 25 miles down the coast
