So the idea is to bring the limit into line with the rest of Europe. From chatting with colleagues in Spain, who were happily downing a couple of glasses of red at lunch prior to driving back to the office, I was under the impression that disqualification is unlikely on a first offence - unless you're completely arseholed that is.
The article does indicate that there may be a 2 tier penalty here if the law is changed but I can't help feeling that this will be another nail in the coffin of the pub culture.
For the record, I often go out for a meal, have a pint and drive. Any more & I leave the car at home. Far more dangerous is driving whilst tired or stressed,but I guess you can't measure that with anything.
