That 'bolt' was the release of the inventory figures from the US Dept of Energy. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

An odd one.Originally posted by Money Money Money View PostOh... Take it it wasn't the best of news!

The crude inventories dropped - which would typically push the price up as there will be demand to bring stocks up. However, the distillates were up which means that there will be no hurry to fill those stocks. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Obviously I know that no-one knows the answer to this but from what you've said is it your opinion they should go back up?Originally posted by HairyArsedBloke View PostAn odd one.

Sorry, I have to be very careful what I say otherwise I can get into trouble. I'm 'too close to the market' and if I say something it could be taken as investment advice, which I'm not allowed to give.Originally posted by Money Money Money View PostObviously I know that no-one knows the answer to this but from what you've said is it your opinion they should go back up?
One thing I can say is that get the idea that things 'should' happen out of your mind. Think in terms of how you would react for a range events, e.g. shoot up or down, drifts around. The market will go where it wants to go.How did this happen? Who's to blame?
