Swine Flu jab for kiddies?

Presumably she's seen those in hospitals where dosages are written out as needed and measured by hand before being administered?Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostI doubt if they'll be able to get the needle in then, unless they bring the green kryptonite.
They offered the missus the jab and she refused point blank. She has seen more dosage fck ups and mistakes than the late Dr H.Shipman.

The flu jabs come in pre-measured, sealed and self contained one shot syringes. No chance of a dosage cock up. If even if it was wrong it would need to be orders of magnitude wrong ( ie wont fit in the syringe ) before it had any adverse affect, as it is inert material being injected to begin with."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

My two had it yesterday, a bit of screaming but no big deal. I quizzed a Dr mate on what he thought, he compared the risk of not having the jab to that of not wearing a seatbelt.Comment

She has also seen bad batches, dirty needles, poor standards, missed veins and untested products. She is also aware of past campaigns where the jabs have killed many more than the virus did.
Taking a risk on your own behalf is one thing, and its something we do on an almost daily basis. Taking it on behalf of someone else, like a kid, is a big and scary responsibility, I really feel for DP and everyone else.
But it is a balance of risks. This flu is not killing the young and old, its killing the fit and healthy in the prime of life. So on the balance of probabilities, my missus said 'no thanks'.
