Cheapish hotel accommodation in London

Morning,

After some info / advice from anybody who has used hotels / overnight accommodation in London.

I have booked myself onto a 2 day training course in London early next year and when making the booking i asked if they could provide details of hotels relatively close to the venue which they did. However, the details they sent me are of hotels charging from £107 per night up to £160.00 per night for essentially B&B. Now i dont mind paying for accommodation but £100+ per night for B&B!!! The closest underground station to the venue is Angel.

So, could anybody recommend a hotel / B&B etc which is reasonably priced and will be close enough so as to not require a bit of a hike to get to the venue / Angel underground station.

have you tried laterooms.com - they are part of expedia so if you use quidco you can save a little more also. You can get some ok deals out of them. Also lastminute.com are doing a hotel sale at the moment. They might be worth checking out - they do a quidco cashback thing also.

London is expensive - try booking.com, laterooms or any one of the myriad websites that magically appear in google when you type in 'Cheap hotels + London'

I have heard of Laterooms.com et all and even Google but i did ask in my OP for recommendations i.e. a hotel based on peoples own experiences since i gather from the posts on this site that quite a lot of IT people work in London.

for that price provided its not a 'busy week' in london you should be able to get a deal at a 4* hotel for around the same price - use the sites suggested by other posters but also try lastminute.com and octopustravel.com

and i use booking.com and laterooms.
and London can be very expensive.
Have you tried the premier lodge type of places?

Use recs and laterooms.com - but I tend just to use laterooms for 1-2 nights aways. After all you just want price and location, right?

Most people around here just book into the nearest Hilton, (using Laterooms.com, obv.)

I used lastminute last time I was in London, but still didn't get much cheapness. Also, check for reviews on tripadvisor so you don't end up in a tuliphole like this one.
