    Mind the gap

Based on an earlier discussion with a learned colleague

Gigs are rare. Those with big gaps on the CV are likely to be further down the pecking order hence making the current gap bigger. Where does gap closing become blatant lies. How can one make ones CV look less like you've been on the bench pot noodling without telling porkies?

Can you spin telling the shopkeeper their cash machine is out of order to "Providing IT consultancy to retail sector" and sleep at night, or play it totally honest and sit on the bench with dignity fully in tact.

Where do we sit on this one? Discuss.

Why does it matter? - no one ever checks references, except for lead generation.

              I've definitely had references checked.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I use Polyfilla CV and Resume Filler
Really big gaps might need more than one application though!
