    Meanwhile, back on topic...

    The posters by the SVP (the rather xenophobic right wing party of Switzerland) were banned in a number of cantons. Most of the major churches and Christian organisations in the country were in favour of NOT banning minarets. The biggest yes vote to the ban was in the predominanty Catholic Cantons.
    Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

        If you vote for UKIP they are in favour of more referenda for stuff like this.
        ...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

            Who votes in this things anyway? Anybody living in Switzerland or only Swiss..'cause I reckon that's probably only about 60% of the population then.

              80% of people living in Switzerland are Swiss. Only the Swiss have the vote. The turnout was above 50% (which is quite high for a people's initiative).

              Apparently the percentage of women voting this time was higher than usual. ( Woman have been allowed to vote in Switzerland for a few decades now ).
