For a full-time nanny, bear in mind that when they quote their salary expectations, e.g. £18000 (I don't know what they actually charge!), they are talking NET, so you need to add on their NI and PAYE as well as your employers NI too.

And you have to check that they have the right to work in the UK before you can employ them.

Obviously if you are a government minister you don't have to bother ....

Would not consider one, I am perfectly capable of doing my own tiding and washing etc. But then I do live in the North where posh is, getting out of the bath to pee.

In London, we have to pay extra to have the professional ladies/gents to stay in the bath and do that sort of thing.
