Yep, am planning on upgrading the alarm and security lights including alraming the garage which is at the end of the garden. But as a keen DIY'er I have some expensive kit in there, table saw, router table, many tools, etc, plus expensive bikes. Probably more lucrative for a thief to rob the garage than the house.Originally posted by minestrone View PostThey will not try it on with a well prepared house. The double glazing is internally beaded and locks are OK.Comment

Easier still, change your name to Duncan Ferguson and advertise the fact you live there to deter them.Originally posted by minestrone View PostThey will not try it on with a well prepared house. Alarm? boring. If you've got some time off out of contract, just get yourself a big plasma TV, a shotgun and a rocking chair.

I would love some active security on a par with frying the bastards with the mains upon entry, however the repurcussions deter me from doing this.Originally posted by thunderlizard View PostAlarm? boring. However, I wouldn't have any problem taking a baseball bat to someone in my home.Comment

well, horses for courses, but come on...you're an Englishman aren't you? It should be a cricket bat. I resent the creeping Americanization of our head-smashing activities.Comment
