They will not try it on with a well prepared house. Security lights, double glazing and an alarm. If any fliper gets into my home he will be lucky to have a doctor to remove the hockey stick, stashed under my bed, from his cranium.

Yep, am planning on upgrading the alarm and security lights including alraming the garage which is at the end of the garden. But as a keen DIY'er I have some expensive kit in there, table saw, router table, many tools, etc, plus expensive bikes. Probably more lucrative for a thief to rob the garage than the house.

The double glazing is internally beaded and locks are OK.

I would love some active security on a par with frying the bastards with the mains upon entry, however the repurcussions deter me from doing this.

However, I wouldn't have any problem taking a baseball bat to someone in my home.
