3 large glasses of wine (= bottle) is fine for me and isn't that unusual - 3 pints though and I'd likely be on my ear.

No there is an absolute level of safe drinking (which I used to exceed constantly in my 20s/early 30s). My tolerance then was sky-high. Could quite easily do all-dayers and go out at night.

I've cut down drastically now (although still like a wee dram now and then) as a couple of mates had health problems - one is still in the AA.

I would suggest its possible your level of drinking, if continued, could lead to problems sooner than you think - although everyone's different.

        I am early 30s

I know what you mean though and luckily I've seen enough Alcoholics in my family to know when I've had enough to drink.

Not the same for fellas I know but, for us girlies a lot depends on the time of the month, what we do or do not drink - lots of variables really.

He is a recovering alcoholic and if he follows his program he will be an AA member till the day he dies, so don't be waiting for him to come "out".

I like to procrastinate as well as drink at lunch time, so I’ll worry about that later …

Now one bottle of wine ( 750 ml ) at 12% = 90 ml of alchohol

            1 pint of beer (570 ml) at 5% = 28.5 ml of Alchohol * 3 = 85.5 ml of alchohol.

In theory at least, you should get slightly more pissed on the Wine than the Beer.

Yeah I'm not sure the AA has got it right - its more like a religion/cult that labels its adherents alcoholics so they are stained for life - bit like the "original sin" concept of the Catholic church.
I think its bollocks. It is possible to drink moderately rather than not at all as the AA preaches.
