Indeed, you said articles, which is a bit vague so I was adding clarification

It was a strawman argument over something I never said. HTH.

If he engaged in fact then he might sound more than a fairly clever chap having a rant down the back of his pub after too many brews. With that in mind the article serves no purpose and I am surprised the Sunday Times let that stuff through. I have to agree with sas on this one.

Scratch below the surface and I expect there is little more to him. It has made him rich though.
His points are well made with the use of humour, irony and extravagant metaphors. The point about Jeremy Clarkson is that he winds people up who take what he says at face value. Mandelson is an unpleasant self serving slime ball who like all other NL politicians put their own agendas ahead of the people who vote for them.

I get the irony, thing is he's just not that funny. Sort of a one trick pony, who's trick got pretty boring a long time ago, or maybe even never got to that base to begin with..

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Something Clarkson will never be accused of. He seems to be in that special group of people who're able to mouth off directly without first engaging their brain in any meaningful sort of way

Irony is not really Clarkson's strong point otherwise he'd recognise that his money has been made off the backs of the taxpayer (via the BBC licence fee).
So his slagging off other public-sector parasites is a bit rich.

At least he's popular, more than can be said of you snaw.
