While test-driving a pick-up truck, Clarkson decided to assess its strength by driving it into a 30-year-old chestnut tree in the car park of a church in Churchill, Somerset.

Parish Council members noticed the damage but only realised it was the work of Clarkson the following year when a parishioner saw the Top Gear episode in which he rammed the truck into the tree.

The church approached the BBC, who admitted Clarkson was responsible and paid £250 compensation.

Still close enough to fly into the recording studio, good taxation laws, nice(ish) climate, not full of immigrants and mosques, etc.

The problem is Mandelson and the likes of Mandelson such as many other politicians are emigrants or second generation emigrants are from a totally different ideological cultural, and religious background. The government has been hijacked and the average Brit is too stupid to realise.

How about immigration with carefully set limits, tough barriers to entry based on qualifications, previous work experience, english speaking, background and criminality checks, references, full medical to ensure health and age limits?

Sort of like the rest of the world (Oz, Nz, USA, Canada, etc) does really?

The UK and the EU already have extremely strict criteria for immigration from outside the EU. It seems the only result is that we have a lot of undocumented (illegal) immigration, but of course nobody knows how much by definition of the immigration being illegal; illegal immigrants don't turn up at the official authorities asking for NI numbers and so we don´t have a clue how many of them there are.
