I notice that MS pricing for Windows 7 is set at US$1 = £1.
That's quite normal. The dollar cost has usually been the pound cost for most MS software. It varied a bit when the pound was so strong, but it has never represented the exchange rate.
Also I think the dollar cost is plus sales tax, whereas UK cost is inclusive of VAT - although VAT is still much higher than most US sales taxes.
And what happened to "there will be no OEM version of Windows 7"? I kept being told this and read about it. Today I bought Win7 64bit OEM for £40 cheaper than the retail version, one day after release.

Where from please?

Go to software section or search for Windows 7 64 OEM
If you look at Amazon the retail version is only about £20 more than Scan's prices for ultimate, and about the same for Home. Pro seems a bit more of a difference.
