    Oh well.
I use VMWare, and take snapshots. When I feel an instance slowing down, I just revert to a snapshot from a few months ago. Don't have a problem with the windows slow down now.

Nice solution, but this is non-intuitive for non-techy folks, and therefore rather proves the point that PCs don't "just work".

I consider it an act of recklessness to sell PCs to non-savvy users as one can be certain they'll wreck it inside a few weeks. Although not a MAC user myself, I do recommend that novices get one as I believe it'll likely save them loads of trouble.

        People the answer is simple.

So in conclusion... MACs are for non techy people without a clue who want something shiny

Windows is for those of us who want to get on with work, get the biggest choice of software and know something about what we bought

              Alternatively...

Macs (it's not a TLA, BTW) are for people who want access to the vast body of software available for Unix, full versions of powerful development tools that come free with the OS rather than having to be bought (or "free but limited" versions), powerful and easy-to-use applications that come free with the machine rather than having to be bought, the ability to run that Office junk from Microsoft if they absolutely have to, the ability to run that Windows junk from Microsoft if they absolutely have to... and know something about what they bought.

                WHS.

Yes, Macs can look very slick and shiny and simple to non-techies. Non-techies tend to like that sort of thing and tend not to want to get drawn into complicated configuration or installation issues.

Macs can also be as hardcore techie as you want them to be. You have full access to the underlying OS if you want it and all the gadgets and system tools you could ever want or need.

Visual Studio is in another league to xCode.

Although if you do need that sort of stuff then a Mac would be a better option anyway

This wasn't intended to be a Mac vs. Windows bunfight, merely a rant about certain mac users who choose to 'shout it from the rooftops' and look down on PC users.....

We've all met them and it's time something was done about them I say!

I have nothing against Apple macs themselves (except when I have to go to Google to find out things like I have to press atl+3 to type a # symbol ).

I'm suprised none of you Linux people have decided to pipe in (do you see what I did there?) yet..

Referring to the Unix aspect of Mac OS is usually my first line of defence if one of said Mac snobs tries to engage in a debate about whey their's is so much better..

Cuts them down right in their tracks and makes them say things like "Well of course I don't know the first thing about computers"

Just to reiterate - this is not a pop at Macs or Mac users - just that certain breed of Mac user that give all the others a bad name!

I think I'd say that Macs are better for non-techs, not just for non-techs.
