All women will spend money if its there. My girlfriend and I are saving for a new house, and she has been a trainee teacher for the last year so money has been tight. Now she has started earning money we agreed that as we have been living off my income we would simply save hers, yet so far she has managed to squander it away on nothing in particular. Its in their nature I think to buy nice things. I would advise tucking away a good percentage of your income somewhere that she doesnt know about, then use that to buy the things you both need rather than on what she prioritises.

My advice dump her just before her birthday.... save on the present. She'll come running after a few days when she's missing your big fat wallet.
