In different countries they charge differently because their supplies are local in nature. That's why price of BigMac is often used as purchasing power comparison rather than direct currency exchange rate.

Does McDonalds on Oxford Street charge for the same meal more than one located in Dundee? I think not. That's because it is more important for them to maximise profits over long period of time rather than take advantage of location on Oxford street to make as much as they can get away with.
