That's my point...it's very subjective. If you are 15.9 years old, the law says you are a child, but a week later, the law says you are an adult!!!!!

I don't think the age is the simple crux of the matter. It's that a teacher is in a position of trust. A trust that was abused.

I believe that in Spain the age of consent is only 13 as long as BOTH parties are 16 or under.

13 is too young IMO... I had no clue at 13 about anything let alone engaging in sexual activites with anyone....

I agree.

I'd much rather my kids waited till they were over 18 to have sex, but if they do have sex at 13, I'd VERY much prefer it not to be with someone considerably older than them, and certainly not with someone who was put in a postion of trust over them.

In this country a 16 year old could be tarnished for life by being placed on the Sex Offenders Register for having sex with someone in the same school year as them and that is just ridiculous.

OK, so how does this story compare with this one? Obviously, in this case the evil paedo-scum deserves burning.

It's interesting. On the face of it, a teacher having sex with an underage pupil is a pretty shocking offence whatever the sex and sexuality involved. I must admit to making allowances on the first reading for the fact that she was decent looking.
