tantrum: That bastards can get way with treating people in this manner. So sorry to read this SY01 - but you have to put yourself and your own well being first before any job.

Very sorry to hear about your situation. It just isn't worth destroying yourself over a job. Thankfully you have your misses and you should do something you really enjoy doing over the weekend and start to get your equilibrium back.

If you are that close to the edge, you are right to quit. Do think about doing some studying and courses to help deal with difficult situations though.

        Keep posting!!!!

I think I could bunker down and tolerate a few more days, I have got by so far, but I am so beaten down, and I have had a breakdown before. I am not getting any younger and suityou02 is concerned. I think I could tough it out, but unless things change then another breakdown is a risk. The thing is, you never see the breakdown coming. I must admit that I feel similar to when I had the breakdown before, but when it comes, it comes fast and without warning, it's not until you are recovered that you can piece together the fragments of your memory.

[Actually broke down reading this post to suityou02, enough is enough, I think you may not hear too much from suityou01 for a bit]

If you're feeling that bad about the gig, then it's time to get out. It really isn't worth risking your health for.

Best wishes, whatever you decide to do.

Are you a PM in the Lloyd's market?

If so pm me as I may know of some gigs coming up.

              No, workflow and .net guy.

Had a long rest, just got up
Needed that. I'll give it one more week, then if it's no better I'll go to his line.
I have the rest of the weekend to find some "equilibrium" as put on here. Take my mountain bike out for a thrash round the district is prolly a good place to start.

Thanks for the positive posts. Nice to get opinions of others. And the PMs I have received have been very helpful, so thank you to you.

Still feel wobbly, but a heck of a lot better than I did last night.

There are mechanisms to sort this out - don't just walk out - take it to a tribunal, yourco/you could get quite rightly get substantial compensation.
A tribunal will not be interested, They have no jurisdiction over a B2B dispute.

You will have to go to a normal court (much more difficult to win there).

If these gigs are in "nicer" environments than mine then why not PM RC? Just a thought.

The system architect today confided in me that his team thought the PM was a cock, and couldn't believe I hadn't bailed already.

I am drinking heavily just to get through, and don't know how much longer I can keep up this facade.
The odd skinful can help, but this reads as though you are taking too much of the stress into your personal time. Remember that alcohol is a depressant.

Get out in the fresh air this weekend!

Off for a swim now and if my bike gets fixed my the bike shop up the road I will be out on that later.

                      No beer today.
