ClientCo have decied they want a permie so I will get my marching orders in due course. One months notice, to be issued as soon as the new permie/sucker signs on the dotted line.

The thing is, if they give me a months notice in say, a months time, I am out for a long while as you never get work in December or January.

Would you quit now, and start looking? Or hang around until they are done, and toss you aside?

Stick around and get some more experience in that sector. It will probably take them a couple of months to get someone else in (notice periods etc.), then they'll need some handover time.

Start looking. Just walk when you get the new gig. Do not worry about notice.
Normally I would tell you to honour your contract but they have already told you they are not going to honour their side.
If they insist on notice then tell them you are quiting after the notice period and you will be on leave untill then.

To be honest, with the stress of this role, you could serve notice and sign off sick! I'd say the way they have treated you has been way past what anybody could reasonably expect. Start looking, serve notice and quit. They won't do anything about it. OK you won't get to work there again, but would you want to?
