First thoughts are that the BBC broadcast is delayed by a few minutes, but making use of a delay would be a bit lame (and it likely does not exist), so regardless he would also need to use a standard conjuring trick of making people believe the correct numbers had been picked before the show - but crucially not shown to be correct until after the draw.

Isn't there a second delay between terrestrial and satellite broadcasts?

      I think it's only 2 or 3 seconds.

If most people at home view on satellite or freeview and he views the draw on terrestrial and then broadcasts the result - ball by ball.

DB shows picture in picture on the programme so it appears he is predicting the result just before the ball drops.

Surely it can't be that easy, can it?

I've got a freeview box and another tv so I could watch both and report back later. Or is that too sad?

Simply using a delay is hardly showmanship, it's too easy and loads of people would turn on the 2nd TV to check.

Perhaps it's similar to the TV show where he seemed to convince the cashier at the dog track he had a winning ticket... he will say random numbers but make us believe those are the winning ones.

Hmm. I'm sure he's spoken about how he uses counting techniques etc in his speech pattern to subconsciously influence peoples' answers... I thought that was NLP but am happy to be corrected?

Anyway he's an interesting guy but there's so much smoke and mirrors you just have to accept it as entertainment. The only way is to have a 1-on-1 meeting with him, but then you can't prove any amazing stuff to anyone else because you could be in on it.

Tempted to record the show, watch the lottery and then watch him afterwards.

If you look closer, you find that the tabloid imbeciles have completely misinterpreted what he claimed he was going to do... which is exactly what he intended

I personally think DB is brilliant. I have happily paid to see him live, and his stage shows are as impressive as his TV shows, yet somehow even more so for happening "before your very eyes".

Can he predict the lottery results? No, of course not, and you're an absolute cretin if you think he can.

Has he claimed to be able to predict the lottery results? No, of course not, although you may be dumb enough to misinterpret a very carefully-phrased statement by him as saying so.
                    Thanks for the insult.

I haven't heard him claim anything, all I have seen as a newspaper report telling me what he has claimed.

If they have reported it wrongly, IMHO it's his responsibility to correct them, not to tell me that I am an idiot for believing it

                      That was underwhelming.
