I did watch a bit of last night's show, and as usual he pretends he's doing all these psychological tricks but everything I saw could be easily explained by the "selected at random" audience members being plants. Which is almost certainly how its done.

    Paul Daniels was more convincing.
Well that's not going to make a very entertaining How its done show.

Personally I think its done with photo sensitive balls and lasers.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

It was him on a stage in an empty room, the balls he picked on a transparent stand facing away, but visible the whole time.

I agree some shady camera work seems most likely... but I'd like to hope it's something smarter than a typical magic trick. That's not really his style.

Possible (though technically tricky I'd think) but again, isn't he more about the psychological element rather than conjuring tricks?

It's more intriguing than his last stunt where he predicted 6 horse race winners, having read about tipster club scams I worked that one out within 5 minutes of the program starting.

The balls were white and there was no close up shot of them whilst the lottery balls were selected. It would be relatively easy to devise a mechanism to spray the numbers on to the balls from below and then rotate the balls backwards.

From the distance that the camera and the audience were located at, the rotation of the balls wouldn't be visible, and the tv commentary would cover any printing noises.

I'm always looking for something unusual during his 'tricks' - for example, he stood 'differently' while looking at the TV. He seemed to cover his mouth with his hand?

I would say - it is a very easy mechanical trick to do with the right prop.

Like most tricks - when you know the answer, you just think.... was THAT it?

That one was obvious but it was still interesting to watch given the huge scale of the endevour.

I loved the bit where he showed himself tossing the coin and getting 10 heads in a row

That's all part of the misdirection. That people think he's different and not doing simple tricks, and that somehow he wouldn't or wouldn't be allowed to just use simple TV camera trickery.

Maybe he hacked the feed from the BBC?

Didn't think of that did you, eh?

                  I'm sure I'm right...

So in the reveal show on Friday, will he actually reveal it Penn & Teller style, or make up a load of guff?

Has anybody worked it out? Come on tell.

He cant have interfered with the feed. Any number of people will have been watching the beeb feed, possibly side by side (or picture in picture) with his show.
We know he didnt realy predict it so how did the correct numbers get on those balls, or the correct balls get on the stand?

I have only seen the youtube clip which is not that big or clear so any insight would be useful. Some sort of mini printer? or is that not his style?
I am not qualified to give the above advice!
