That we're expensive compared to an employee, most permies divide their salary up into hours and moan like flip that the contractor next to them earns more completely ignoring the fact they get paid for holidays, bank holidays, sick days, duvet days, dependents days, maternity and paternity days... they also forget they don't pay employees NI, PL & PI insurance, accountant/umbrella fees... also they forget that it cost a bloody fortune to get rid of an employee and they have never had an unpaid day since they left school.

I'm on £12.50ph with all the above costs, it's only a bog standard 2nd line support role and the permies are on £25k so feck knows how the client came up with that rate... near suicidal at the moment!!!

It just about beats sitting at home clicking refresh.
