Posts can be voted to be useful or not - which they've chosen to brand as 'thanked', so you have the post count plus 'thanked x times in y posts'. They also show who thanked/rated them. Not sure that's necessary.
Other forums and social sites have a simple thumbs up/thumbs down (I like this/I don't) symbol next to or below the post, which results in post count plus a positive and negative indicator.
Yes, it's open to abuse - but I think it'd be easy to spot people trying to skew the system, or use sockies.
PS - the simple like/dislike symbol would be the easiest to use - especially if it didn't take you away from the current page/thread, much like the multi-quote button.Comment
