I hate it when you have to get serious on this forum but......

Last year my daughter was going through a rocky patch with her hubby, and I strongly suspected she might have been 'carrying on'. She told me one night that she hated him.
I warned her about the devastation it would cause to the kids if she did anything to finish the marriage, and pointed out his good points, but told her that what ever she decided I would back her up 100% blah blah.
I never said anything to him, even though we go out and get on well.

I took the kids away for a week to give her a break and to try to remove some of the stress from her, also some dosh to help her through. They are now as happy as they ever were, if I had said something ???? who knows where we would be

Difficult position and option. How are you going to explain to a mate that you knew when it all goes baps up?

I didn't, and wouldn't. I lied through my teeth (and others did the same for me)

My two best mates broke up and I had to lie to both of them - I think that's why they are still my friends.
