I'd say it's a key element of all sport, even if a lot of it is really childish when it's exposed. Sports people like winning and hate losing, and they'll do pretty much anything to give themselves an advantage.Comment

You see tons of nasty-looking knocks in football, and I'm sure many players are covered in bruises... two people both committed to getting the ball sprinting at it from opposite directions is common.
