    Just moaning out loud chaps. Not expecting an agony Aunt response - but thanks for the offers of help.
    Just cheesed off having applied for jobs I can do in my sleep (to be fair probably 100s on the market who can do the same) and getting no response. Then you receive the fishing emails which have no correlation with your actual skills and experience.
    Tells oneself - must find a Plan B, must find a Plan B...
    Speaking gibberish on internet talkboards since last Michaelmas. Plus here on Twitter

            Tie, God I hope not - They'll flunk him if he wears a tie. May as well turn up with a bowler hat and brolly.

            The last two interviews I've had, wearing no tie, I've been accepted, and the last one I had *with* a tie I flunked.

            Next time, if my required skills are borderline, I may try turning up with no trousers.

              Its not simply question of which Tie ?

              These days an employer looks for a Matching Tie - and Handkerchief.
