      Not everyone in Australia started as convicts. Only most of us.

        On 23rd December we went away for Xmas. In the morning of the 23rd I was tired and coughing and sneezing and streaming. I felt awful and there was packing to do and a 4 hour drive to be done. But I still applied for some gigs that morning. Other people had said "There's no point looking for work in Xmas week, ha, ha!"

        Other people were wrong.

        One of those applications paid off.

        I have an interview on Thursday up in the North West. My first face-to-face in 3 months. And its a PM role in my niche area paying a higher rate than any I've had since 2001.

        And how many people are they interviewing?

        One! Me! Having niche skills does pay off.
        RC FTW!

            My olde friend Caligula had a perfect way of dealing with coughs & colds.

              I couldnt read all 114 pages of this thread but I just want to know did Richard Cranium get a contract in the end or is the bench so hot that it is now a source of renewable energy?

                  Still benched.

                  Highlights include:
                  - two interviews that were just me being used to provide free consultancy;
                  - following contractor79's guidance and signing on;
                  - making an assertive claim regarding pimps;
                  -seeing if I can get the taxpayer to send me on a training course;
                  - being smug about having applied or a gig on 23rd Dec and having an interview for that gig tomorrow.
                  My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

                    Re your cough, apparently lots of hot drinks help, I suggest non-dairy ones, I recently suffered a cough for seven weeks, drove me up the wall!
