Do you have a habbit of replying to your own posts? This thread looked a bit lonely. .

I saw a service desk team manager role advertised on contract for a LARGE public sector outfit, managing 2 senior analysts and 2 analysts.. degree educated, ITIL manager, blah blah blah...

            wait for it...

            £300 a week / £8hour... I kid you not.

I rang up to ask if that was per day, or per week just out of curiosity.. how can they justify paying less than a shelf stacker in Tesco's for doing a 'professional' job?

Agreed that rates are down, on the whole, across the board but there is also an element of pimps taking advantage of current maket conditions and pocketing the difference.

WHS - I've noticed the same in my niche area of the market. I've actually found one job taking almost 45%. Are they going to the wall when cutting so much?
