I doubt they'd be able to do it on this one. PCI-DSS is pretty niche, even within the Security sector.

The agency is Huntress, who are IIRC part of S3. I think that may be the explanation.

If you pay peanuts you will get Monkeys.

This smacks of Agents trying to increase their margins whilst driving down the hard-working contractors takings .

Futhermore - with that kind of rediculous rate - you are going to attract the inexperienced , have-a-go candidate , or worse the CV fibber exagerrating his experience - whose mistakes can prove very very costy to the clients production systems - yes I have seen this happen - sadly more than ince .

The upshot - possibly resulting in the agent losing the client forever.

Of course the contractor will have indemnity so he will not be liable for the damage due to his amateur blunders - whats that ?

The Have-a-go-Joe has been offered a fiver more on his rate - whoosh he is off - well he couldnt really hack the project , and theres those mistakes that hes praying nobody will notice for the now - and hes desperate for the cash - thats why he took your lousy rate in the first palce - didnt even bother handing his notice in - its a dog eat dog world.

You wont be hearing back from that client again ..

Agreed that rates are down, on the whole, across the board but there is also an element of pimps taking advantage of current maket conditions and pocketing the difference.

I saw a service desk team manager role advertised on contract for a LARGE public sector outfit, managing 2 senior analysts and 2 analysts.. degree educated, ITIL manager, blah blah blah...
