Does anyone know if Lloyds are doing this directly or is this the company that they have outsourced to doing the shipping from India?? If its the latter then Lloyds may not have much of a say.
You forgot to put PZZ at the end of that post.

What does it stand for anyway? Perverted Zebra Zoophile?

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

        Hey Atw.

We may have found a new friend for you.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I don't have a single Lloyds, TSB or HBOS account these days and I'm quite glad that despite living within a mile of 3 corporate HBOS offices that I haven't worked for them in about 9 years.

I heard that quite a big organisation in my town is dropping their contract rates to 165 a day I really do fear for the industry and honestly do believe that contract wages will be on a par with perm wages in 5-10 years.
In now-2 years. And perm wages will be going down.

As for a government with a mandate to protect jobs, that would not be a Conservative government, I think. That is not what they are for.

It could conceivably have been an Old Labour government, but since they discovered that the middle class voters, who don't care about things like other people's jobs, would not vote for them, they became New Labour, who likewise protect the rich against the poor.

The only difference is that the Tories represent Old Money while pretending to represent New Money; New Labour represent New Money while pretending to represent the poor. Unions (reasonably enough) represent their members.

Nobody represents you and me, though some of us are able to kid ourselves some of the time that we belong in one of the aforementioned interest groups.

              Expat, fair analysis.

I came to a similar conclusion many years ago. Best policy: Frak 'em.

Don't think for one minute that whoever made the decisions didn't run it by their HR folks to make sure that they weren't leaving themselves exposed legally.
Well let's say nothing will happen unless someone stands up and makes a fight of it.

These ICTs are a clear abuse of the intent of the rules and need to be stopped. And the rules are being abused because if the immigrants were being paid in line with them they wouldn't be cheaper than local staff (who would also be rather more able to do the bloody work anyway) . So all we have to do is persuade TPTB that the rules are being abused and that UK workers are being dumped by marginally illegal practices by people who are not paying tax in the UK most of the time anyway.

Also, given rates are dropping, how many times have I heard "I won't get out of bed for less than £400 a day, so sod 'em"? Or "I've been offred a 10% cut so I'm off"? Perhaps if people did work at market rate we wouldn't have the problem in the first place. It's called capitalism.

I get really sick of the "we're all doomed" mongers around here. Stand up and f***ing fight for your market or shut the f*** up.

Well said Malvolio, I'm glad some of my PCG money is going on this campaign.
I even find myself nodding along with SASguru's comments, while offshoring is not going to stop I find the attitude of some of you in just accepting this pathetic.
With that kind of attitude in 1939 Hitler would have just walked in and pissed all over your chips.

I will write to my MP over this, Fatso Eric Pickles. I will first say that his clone response to my previous letter about IR35 lost the Conservatives a vote in the Euros in favour of UKIP. But I will offer him a chance to redeem himself through addressing the gross abuse of intra company transfers.

                    Yeah, I should try that.
                    Except:
                    • I don’t have a vote (a technicality, I know)
                    • The local MP is George Galloway of the Respect Party. Which is a joint venture of the Socialist Workers Party and some Islamofacist group. I don’t expect much support there.

Too late its already happened, time for action was 5-10 years ago.

Dont think your MP will care too much as what you are describing is gov policy- both Lab and Con are against protectionism.

Not sure many of these jobs will be ICT's, like most companies, the work will be shipped offshore lock stock and barrel as is their right to do so.

If the OP moves his account from Lloyds, where will he take his business?? All banks have offshored huge tracts of their business processes, IT is just a tiny amount of a much bigger picture.
