That sort of thing doesn't go down at all well on the 'inside' either. Surprisingly, a lot of crims are very fond of animals.
He was getting serious abuse from people outside the court a few weeks ago. Spat at and a few kicks but obviously the police were there, read a few hints on other forums from people around my area that he is going to get a severe kicking.

Could you imagine you got a kitten for you daughter at Christmas then have to tell her a few months later cuddles was scalped and decapitated by the weirdo down the street? You would kill him yourself.

I will let Mrs BP sort it out. But I am not having another unsociable cat. If thats the only option we will get a chicken instead......

All these other things are natural. Cats are not and there are far to many of the little sods, we have at least six regulars. Other pests, like rats or wasps or stray dogs, one could legally take action on, the law protects cats but provides no remedies to their much greater nuisance. (I like dogs, rats and wasps anyway)

Today, yet again, I had to remove turds from the little dust area I provide for the sparrows. Unless one remembers to keep buying expensive repellant it keeps happening. The electronic things are rubbish.

PS No, I wouldn't shoot any animal but they get a darn good shouting at.

How do you know these turds are down to cats. Cat turds (from an adult cat) would be quite hard to find. Adult cats try as hard as they can to bury their scat. What many ignorant people describe as 'cat' feaces, is probably from a fox, or a badger (in the UK).

            Cats are not natural?

            Sigh!

Your blind ignorance is showing. Been around a hell of a lot longer than you and I.

If I kept a pet fox or wolf that predated on nearby wildlife, would that be OK too?

I resent putting food out for the birds when I later find I've merely been feeding a neighbour's ******* cat.

If I kept hawks an used them to hunt local birdies, there would be complaints, would there not?

Can you see the difference? One is wild, one is supposedly being kept as a pet.

People pay to have moles removed. And foxes. Farmers shoot crows. Rabbit-killing is not seen as a big issue.

              You're havering.

Like *******? Nah. Predating on winkers doesn't harm anything of value.

I have no problem with you keeping a 'pet' fox if you want to. I sincerely doubt that you know anything at all about foxes, but good luck with that.

Most cats don't care about birds. They are more into hunting rodents. If there are no rodents, they may go after birds. Survival.

As for hunting Winkers, Richard, I suggest you go and lie under the bed until the horses have rode on by.

Why should these pets roam free in other people's gardens, killing birds and other wildlife, crapping everywhere, coming into your house if you dare to leave a door open in hot weather? A change in the law is needed.
I`ve never liked pets especially cats or dogs. But recently spent some time living on a farm and grew quite fond of a young sheepdog with a lot of character. And recently a local cat has been following me around and the little blighter even followed me into my home and must admit, after watching the way it had a good nose around the place I lightened up. Sure, I made it leave but now quite often I find it outside my home sat on the doorstep looking up at the main entrance to my home - find it quite amusing - it just loves people.
however, I do think many owners of both of these types of animals are a little selfish. A nightbour has a large dog in a small house and hardly ever takes it out - think the owner should be shot.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of cats, but the article posted is utterly disgusting. I hope the perpetrator is caught and suffers badly.

I won't be impertinent by asking your age.

When I was a kid (1960-70s), everyone had loads of puppies and rabbits and kittens and fancy mice, and sometimes, other more exotic pets.

My gang of kids just knew instinctively how to get on with animals. We didn't live in a 'rural' area as such. Nor did we come from farming or rural backgrounds necessarily.

However brutal we were with each other, we were normally kind to animals, except for the few (and there were a few) proto-psychopaths amongst us.

Where (and when) I grew up, cruelty to 'dumb animals' was a heinous act.

This has stayed with me, and I still cannot abide casual cruelty or 'hate' of animals.

I am not a vegetarian, and yes, I do wear leather shoes.
