I did try some cheapish Jazz guitars a while back but wasn't sure. Then recently I picked up the ES175 Epiphone and without the amp sounded quite reasonable indeed. So I'm going to go back and give it a blast in the shop.
My Rickenbacker isn't really up to jazz so I thought it would be good to have a second guitar for this and maybe use it for everything if its good enough.
